I make art to stay connected to myself, to what matters, to what’s quietly true beneath the noise.  Each piece is a way of stripping back the distortion that systems, roles, and expectations can layer over us.

What I offer through images and stories is a kind of permission: to feel, to question, to remember who you are before the world told you how to be.

Kristina Skutlaberg

I’m a Scandinavian artist, illustrator, and surface designer creating quiet, whimsical worlds rooted in warmth, clarity, and gentle storytelling. My work blends clean Scandinavian design with soft textures, playful characters, expressive botanicals, and a touch of quiet magic.

I come from a background in statistics and risk analysis, a world built on precision, structure, and clear thinking. That way of seeing things is still part of my art. My illustrations may be soft, intuitive, and playful, but beneath them is a logic shaped by years of noticing patterns, relationships, and quiet details. That mix of structure and sensitivity is why I create the way I do: simple lines, thoughtful shapes, gentle humour, and small moments that feel honest and meaningful.

Whether I’m building a pattern, illustrating a story, or painting a character on paper, my work carries the same heartbeat: warm shapes, calm energy, and a gentle invitation to pause. I believe in honest art, nothing pretentious, nothing loud, just playful, poetic expression that makes people smile without trying too hard.

You might want to work with me if:

  • You’re drawn to work that’s slow, thoughtful, and emotionally clear even when it’s playful.

  • You’re a publisher looking for heartfelt illustration with a quiet sense of humor.

  • You’re an art director in search of fresh, narrative-driven pattern design.

  • You value visual storytelling with a handmade touch.

  • You’re building something honest and curious, and you want the visuals to reflect that.

Let’s make something beautiful and meaningful together.
